05/28/10 WOD

Crossfit gives confidence to any and all who dare participate.  It gives us confidence that affects our jobs and overall life.  It even gives us confidence to try new things.  Jacie,  called me one day and told me she was going to mow and fertilize the lawn……..I must admit I was surprised and worried by the request.  She followed through with her request and only 4-5 days later came the results.   I have received countless phone calls (me being the man of the house and who would normally fertilize) asking what was written in my lawn or what was up with my lawn.  The best part of this whole story is that Jacie asked Scott’s lawn care to come and fertilize the back yard and after they were done, they put an advertising sign out front claiming they fertilized my yard.  Moral of the story, with the new found confidence that crossfit gives you, please keep in mind that there are some things we just shouldn’t try
Sent to me by Jacie’s loving husband.

  1. Hahaha! Holy sh*#! Well Jacie, I’ll give you props for trying. I can see you have a drop spreader. I think your pattern is very creative. Way better than the standard side to side pattern. Too funny! I love it!

  2. I wanted to do the same thing, but Brody decided to take the director roll in the driveway while holding Leo, yelling at me to run faster and I had a pattern I HAD to follow. I’m pretty sure the neighbors thought he was an abusive hubby. This pic honestly made my day. 🙂

  3. Wow Jacie I am impressed. I don’t know many people who could have done that if they tried, Love it. However, now that I’ve seen this picture I have decided against doing it myself.

  4. Sweet Jacie, me and you are alike, I do all the “home-man-stuff” keep trying, I finally fertilized the lawn the right way this year…only a few years later, but hey I got it and so can you! I will admit though I did spell something in my yard two years back because I was a little bitter, I thought I could mow it right out, but need less to say for about 1 1/2 months it was on my yard so be careful of that, maybe stick to sidewalk chalk 🙂

  5. That is sooo funny! I fertilized our yard a few weeks ago, i hope it doesn’t turn out like that! I would be dead!!!!

  6. The picture is nothing…remember the rain…it literally rained for days and days….so the green good stuff, is also about 4 inches taller than the other. I’ve never done it and have also made fun of Kurt for how easy it looks…guess not! Love ya for trying to help Blake out Jace!!!!

  7. Jace,

wow…good times! just wanted to let you know that even though the lawn turned out funny, your effort was noted, and appreciated. I wanted to give you a hard time because normally you do a better job than me at everything! Your the best!

Also, didn’t mean to discourage anyone from trying new things. In fact, I encourage everyone to try new things………just remember it might turn out funny the first time.

    Blake

  8. Jacie, you’re awesome for putting that maze together. Do you give group discounts if I bring my whole family? Oh and is it family friendly or is it a haunted one when it gets dark?

And Speaking of family, Jerilyn, on the bbq that you and Brook are having on Sunday, you said kids are invited too? I don’t know if I can make it but I talked to my kids and they are excited about it. What time should I drop them off and pick them up?

  9. Scot, yes feel free to drop your kids off at the bbq, but please be aware that all unattended children will get unlimited supplies of cotton candy and Mountain Dew and a free puppy.

  10. Ha Ha Ha! Laugh it up everyone! I think I’m brilliant because you all know I’ll never have to do that stupid job again! Scotts Lawn Service actually left a message yesterday saying “we drove by your house and saw the stripping and so we re-fertilized the front again, free of charge”. So, I think I have put myself in a win-win situation! Oh, and Blake, thank you soooo much for sharing this with everyone. I know I beat you in 3 WODs this week, but you really should find other outlets for your anger!
