Barbells for Boobs… Save a Pair… Save a Life.

Support Barbells for Boob’s “Amazing Grace” fundraiser to benefit Mammograms in Action. The CrossFit community’s first cause to benefit women and all the CrossFitters who love them. Do you LOVE boobs? Sign up and SAVE A PAIR.

Amazing “Grace” began as a small, local fundraising event to help fund mammograms for the young women of Southern California who couldn’t afford one themselves. Thanks to a ton of support (and sweat!) from our local CrossFit community, we were able to raise $4000 and fund our very first mammogram.

Before we knew it, we were receiving countless emails and phone calls from CrossFit affiliates from around the world asking how they could participate and help our cause. We are proud to say, that just one year after the inaugural event, we have over 150 CrossFit Affiliates from all over the world participating in the 2010 Amazing “Grace” fundraiser.

Mammograms In Action is a non-profit organization located in Lake Forest, CA. Our mission is to provide funding for qualified women who need screening and/or diagnostic procedures in the prevention of breast cancer. By supporting MIA you help low-income and uninsured women. 100% of the proceeds of Amazing “Grace” will be donated to Mammograms In Action.

CrossFit The Club will be hosting our Amazing Grace event on October 27th.  We will be canceling all evening classes and meeting around 5:00pm so we can all participate in this together.  Be sure that when you register, you put CrossFit The Club as your affiliate gym.

CrossFit has no shortage of grueling workouts, but Richard Grimes goes in search of the most unpleasant WOD ever devised.

A CrossFitter, an endurance runner and a triathlete sat in a bar drinking and telling stories about the hardest workout they’ve ever done—the one they never wanted to do again. The endurance runner started.

“Endurance running is the toughest sport there is. For one workout, I ran a hundred miles through the desert with only a bottle of water. Twice, I was bitten by rattlesnake. That’s the workout I never want to repeat.”

The triathlete wasn’t impressed. “That’s nothing. I once did a double Ironman workout—a five-mile swim, 250-mile bike and two marathons. It took two days and I lost one of my testicles when it snapped off during the second half of the bike ride. I never, ever want to have a workout like that again.”

They both turned to the CrossFitter who had remained silent the entire time.

“So,” asked the endurance runner, “If you had to choose, what CrossFit workout is so painful, so difficult that you never, ever want to do it again?”

The CrossFitter considered this for a second.

“Pretty much all of them,” she answered
