Marie Hunter will be helping us become educated on our diet & nutrition.  Everyone fills a little “puffy” after the holidays and we all know we could use just a little boost to get things roll’n.  Just having someone to report to helps us feel a little more responsibility in sticking to it and a 30 day detox should do just the trick.  That’s right… you don’t have to track if you choose not to, but you do have to follow the rules released by Marie.  

What does that mean?  Well, just like the Open workouts (below) a new Diet Rule will be released each week just to make this 30 days a little more challenging.  We know you will experience great results if you adhere to the diet.

One top male & one top female will win the diet challenge portion and receive a cash prize!


  • Percentage of weight & inches lost
  • Adherence to diet rules
  • Fitness goal achievement

What is the goal achievement?  Remember those boards you wrote two goals on at the beginning of the month?  We want you to select one of those goals.  Preferably a fitness movement goal that you will test at the beginning of the challenge and again at the end, submitting this information to us each time you test.  You will be able submit all this info. via Box Command under the note section of the daily WOD score.  Please do so with our first open challenge WOD and last open challenge WOD.

There is a $25 fee to participate in this challenge.  Please bring your payment with you when you weigh-in on January 24th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. or January 25th from 6:00 – 8:00 a.m. 


That’s right!! Just like the open, every Thursday night we will release an open style work-out or a past open WOD.  Each week we will award the top male and top female with a CASH PRIZE! Cash prize will be determined by the number of participants.


#1  The OPEN WOD must be completed each FRIDAY.   (We will work with you if you can’t make it.)
#2  SCORE must be VERIFIED!! Just like the open you must have another individual count for you. Please be honest and DON’T use your closest friends to count. Score sheets will be provided each week.  They must be filled out with your verified score and the name of the person who counted for you.  We reserve the right to reject your score if we feel you did not adhere to the suggestion above.   🙂
#3  VERIFIED SCORE MUST BE SUBMITTED EACH FRIDAY. Once you have completed the WOD your score must be entered into BOX COMMAND on our daily leader board.  Score sheets will be turned into the coach running the class.
#4 MOVEMENT STANDARDS will be ENFORCED. We realize this could hurt a lot of people so here’s the deal….there is a certain amount of pride that goes a long with the FULL RANGE OF MOTION in the Crossfit world.  It is just as important to Crossfit The Club to meet these standards.  If you have a genuine reason as to why you cannot perform a movement to its full range, like 14 plus knee & shoulder surgeries, please let us know and we will work with you. That being said sometimes we just need to swallow our pride and dig a little deeper.  It may slow you down a bit, but the results will transition into stronger lifts and better mobility. So just do it and don’t get upset if you are no-repped.  Dig in and do it right!!
#5  YOU ONLY GET ONE SHOT! Sorry, no re-do’s.  You can only do the work-out once.


Does this make you nervous?  Don’t let it.  The purpose of the open and  this challenge is to break barriers and come together as a community by cheering each other on.  The movements will be basic, however, you must RX the work-out in order to be eligible to win the weekly prize.  If you are unable to RX a workout don’t let that stop you from making it your first and progressing toward your goals for the year. If you know you will be scaling work-outs and probably not eligible to win any of the weekly WODs don’t sweat it!!  There are several other opportunities to win.  The largest cash prize will be given to the winners of the diet challenge portion.  Make that your goal or maybe we release a max movement challenge that you are great at.  Either way don’t be afraid to step it up and challenge yourself a little bit.


This is just another opportunity to break some barriers as well as win some cash.  Each week, along with the open challenge WOD, we will release a max effort movement.  This will help some of us achieve our goals without the pressure of a work-out.  You will have until the Tuesday following the release to submit your video of you performing this max effort movement. Winner of the movement challenge will receive a cash prize.


#1 Movement must be done by VIDEO SUBMISSION. Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone!  We want the community to see what you and everyone else is capable of and perhaps learn from each other.  Please video your max effort movement and upload the video to our Crossfit The Club Facebook page.  
#2  Video must be submitted each week by Tuesday at 9:00 p.m.

SUMMARY….(for this novel)

This challenge is one meant to break barriers and dig into our goals for 2017.  The more that sign up the more fun it will be. If you have any questions please submit them to cftcdiet@gmail.com or talk with Brooke Fuit, Marie Hunter or any of our CFTC coaches. We will be holding a meeting the night before the challenge starts to answer any questions and to allow Marie to explain the diet rules and get you motivated to get on track.  The meeting will be held Tuesday January 24th at 7:00 p.m.  We will let you know where it will be held the day before.  This will depend on how many people we need to accommodate.

Lastly, this challenge will end on February 23rd.  We will hold a final weigh-in that day from 6:00 – 9:00 a.m. or 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  The winners of the diet challenge, last Open workout, & movement challenge at our first FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS THROWDOWN during the 5:15 p.m. class.  We will have a little pot-luck and celebrate the end of the challenge as well as the release of OPEN WOD 17.1.
