Injuries & Toughing It Out!

What's the worst injury anyone has ever had during a WOD and did you continue on and finish? Because I saw someone take one HELL of a spill off the pull-up bar today (you know who you are ;) and they just kept on going. I was seriously impressed! I hope you're alright :D

I ditto that! What an amazing person! I think with the intensity with which we push....most of us will sustain an injury or two during our Crossfit experience. My caution would be to listen to your body! In my eyes, every Crossfitter is a CHAMPION. We trudge and we fight, and we KEEP ON COMIN cuz we're strong and able! Our minds are as powerful as our bodies, if not MORE powerful. My hope for each of us though would be to never let our EGO be in charge! There's a difference between cuts, bruises, maybe a little blood.......and a serious injury that could be life changing. We only get one back....... You get what I'm saying.

My worst injury would have to be tearing my abs (muscle seperation from my ribs) in a 225# deadlift. Weight was off the ground when we heard a POP sounds, and I felt it. Didn't hurt that bad, so I went on to do the WOD (7 rounds of: 10 155# deadlifts and 50 double unders) which was a mistake. When the pain set in later, I realized I was hurt worse than I had thought. Still learning my limits!
